Dr. Chenxi Huang is a Professor of Social Work and Social Policy and the Vice Dean of the School of Social Development at East China Normal University. He is a research fellow of the Center for Chinese Modern City Studies (key Humanities and Social Science Research Bases approved by the Ministry of Education) and the NYU-ECNU Institute for Social Development at NYU Shanghai, and currently a member of the National Social Work Professional Degree Postgraduate Education Steering Committee, and the deputy director of the Senior Social Work Committee of the China Association of Social Work Education China.
Dr. Huang has engaged in research of social welfare and social work, population aging and social assistance programs in China and published inﬂuential work on social work and social welfare. He was honored with a New Century Excellent Talents in University award by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2013 and won the National Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award in 2020. Dr. Huang received his PhD in Social Work and Social Policy in 2003 from the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at the University of Hong Kong.
