Professor Minseop KIM

Prof. KIM is an associate professor at the Department of Social Work, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research revolves around two inter-related topics: 1) child and family wellbeing, and 2) child welfare/protection. His work on child and family wellbeing has examined whether and how parental socio-demographic characteristics and social programs/policies influence parenting and child outcomes. In the area of child welfare/protection, his research focuses on understanding the service need and utilization of children/youth (and their families) involved in child serving systems of care. Additionally, he is committed to conducting program evaluations to assess the effectiveness of social service programs implemented in Hong Kong.
