The ninth MEL CoP, held on April 29, 2025 (Tuesday), was a huge success and left a lasting impact on the participants. A diverse group of 75 attendees, representing various social service fields and professional backgrounds, gathered with great enthusiasm.
The event was graced by three experienced speakers, including Ms. Lam Pui Yee, Polly, District and Curriculum Development Manager from The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong “Jockey Club Volunteer Together”, along with 2 colleagues from The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong Jockey Club Tseung Kwan O Children & Youth Integrated Services Centre— Mr. So Yu Kai, Kenneth, Centre-in-Charge, and Mr. Hui Koon Kiu, Glenn, Social Worker. Their presence and expertise greatly enriched the session as they shared wonderful insights in supporting underprivileged youths living alone.
Throughout the event, speakers shared valuable experience in equipping youths with comprehensive life skill training, as well as evaluating the program using MEL framework in different levels. Given the successful extension of the project, they also provided future aspirations of services supporting teenagers facing challenges of living alone, as well as possible directions of project development.
The event inspired practitioners across various NGO sectors to evaluate programs using empirical methodologies and raised their awareness of youths in need, ultimately enhancing youth support, and ensuring their personal development and successful transition to independent living.
