Hi there. Following my prior post, I heard that The National Committee for Quality Assurance, American Diabetes Association Provider Recognition Program, Diabetes Quality Improvement Project, and National Quality Forum diabetes measurement sets all include HbA1c and lipid control indicators as well as HbA1c, lipid, urine protein, and eye testing. Is it true? If yes, it would so difficult for a medical social worker to collect such data.

Hi there. Collecting questionnaires is really expensive and time-consuming. For NGO staff, it is also very difficult since we have less solid research knowledge. Therefore, I am considering use second-hand data. However, I also found that reliable sources of data on patient behavior (e.g., physical activity or diet) are less available. Could you please help me with this struggle?

Hi everyone, an update! We have decided to utilize an online and paper-based survey to seek the views of gay and bisexual men about our program and their sexual behavior and practices. However, I heard that the data collection methods and analysis used in program evaluation are the same as those used in a standard research project. Is this true? If yes, it would be too difficult for us to use the SPSS software.

Hi everyone! I have found some information from The American Association of Diabetes Educators. They believe changes in patient behavior to be the outcome most sensitive to diabetes self-management support. We are also conducting a program for patients with diabetes. Could you give me a clue about how to measure the behavior changes in patients?

Hi, friend! We plan to evaluate a program, which was designed to increase patients’ knowledge and self-efficacy for self-management. In our evaluation plan, measures of self-efficacy assess people’s confidence in their ability to perform or adhere to specific behaviors such as exercise, diet, or stress management or to overcome obstacles to the performance of these behaviors.
