Hi everyone! It is well recognized that crime and delinquency of young people place considerable economic loss on society, from an economic standpoint. Following your previous suggestion, I have searched some theories to explain youth delinquency and the absence of parental supervision after school hours and found Hirschi’s social control theory. Yet, how to link youth’s behavior to social control is a huge challenge for me (I do believe in “the person in environment” theory). Grateful if you help me with it!

Could you please help me confirm something about the community service orders (CSO) scheme? I heard that under CSO, a court may make an order requiring a person of or over 14 years of age and convicted of an offense punishable with imprisonment to perform unpaid work for several hours not exceeding 240 hours within a period of 12 months under the supervision of a probation officer. Can I say that as the activities of the CSO scheme?
