 Talk directly to the person with the disability, maintaining eye contact, even if he/she is using an interpreter or personal assistant.
 Encourage the person with the disability to express his/her own opinions, even when parents or friends feel they can speak for the individual.
 Ask if assistance is needed rather than assuming it is. If the person says, “No, thanks,” don’t pressure him/her to accept help anyway.
 Use a normal tone of voice. If the person cannot hear or understand you, he/she will let you know.
 When talking with a person with a cognitive disability, speak in simple, clear sentences. Remember that simple language does not mean childish language.
 When appropriate, ask the person to put in his or her own words what has been said to confirm understanding.

Following the previous post, suppose we have measured the stress level of hidden youth before the pandemic and conduct the same survey one year later and find out there is a decrease in scores. Can we say that the pandemic reduces hidden youth’s stress levels?

Hi, I am afraid I disagree with a previous post that “the pandemic will worsen hidden youth’s situation.” You see, now everyone is asked to stay at home, and hidden youth no longer face pressure from their parents or society to go out, which might reduce their stress level.

Following the previous post, we have used the snowball sampling method and asked the interviewees to introduce their “hidden” peers who would like to accept the interview. But will it have an issue of generalizability?

The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and social distancing measures might make “hidden youth” even more isolated from society. Our center’s cyber outreaching team is considering online engaging those youth and look for participants who would like to accept interviews. May I ask which sampling method is the most appropriate?

Hi, I realized that it seems the concept “outcome” is different from the term “output”. Taking the grandparent training project as an example, what is the “outcome’ referable?

I have designed a large-scale survey about the life satisfaction of low-income families in Hong Kong. Is it appropriate to use the electronic survey through mobile phones?
