The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and social distancing measures might make “hidden youth” even more isolated from society. Under the chronic pandemic, older persons in residential care might feel increasing loneliness as family members cannot visit them in person. I see a news report that some residential homes have used robots for virtual visits, hence I plan to compare the loneliness levels of older persons between those who virtual visits and those who do not.
